01What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. They let a site remember things between pages and visits, such as that you’re signed in.
02The cookies we use
Strictly necessary
Always onThese make Tenth Cup work: signing in, security, keeping a stamp card open on a phone, taking payments and remembering your cookie choice. They’re always on, because the service can’t work without them.
Preferences
OptionalThese remember choices you make in the dashboard, such as which location you’re looking at. If you say no, they still work while you’re using the dashboard but are forgotten when you close the browser.
Analytics
OptionalThese would count visits and where they come from, in aggregate, so we can see which pages help cafes find us. We don’t use any analytics tool yet. If we add one, it will be listed here and will only run if you turn Analytics on.
03Every cookie we set
| Name | What it does | Category | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
| tc_session | Keeps you signed in to the cafe dashboard | Strictly necessary | 30 days |
| tc_c_… | Keeps a customer’s card open on their phone, one per cafe, so a tap adds a stamp | Strictly necessary | 2 years |
| tc_consent | Remembers your cookie choice | Strictly necessary | 12 months |
| __stripe_mid, __stripe_sid | Set by Stripe on the payment page to prevent fraud | Strictly necessary | 1 year, 30 minutes |
| tc_help_feedback:… | Browser storage, not a cookie: remembers you already rated a help article, so we don't ask twice | Strictly necessary | Until you clear your browser data |
| tc_loc | Remembers which location the dashboard is showing | Preferences | 12 months with your OK, otherwise until you close the browser |
| tc_checklist_hidden | Remembers that you hid the setup checklist | Preferences | 12 months with your OK, otherwise until you close the browser |
We don’t use advertising cookies, and we don’t let other companies track you on our site.
04Changing your choice
When you first visit, we ask before setting any optional cookies; they start switched off. You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page, from Settings › Data & privacy in the dashboard, or here:
When you turn a category off, we delete its cookies. You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings, but blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop you signing in.
05More about your data
Our privacy policy explains what personal data we hold and your rights. If we change which cookies we use, we’ll update this page and ask for your choice again.
