Pair your NFCs

Updated

Pairing tells Tenth Cup which location an NFC belongs to, so every tap counts in the right place. It takes a few seconds per NFC.

  1. Stick the NFC where customers pay

Put it near the card reader, at a height customers can reach easily. Avoid metal surfaces and the back of metal stands, which can stop the NFC being read.

  2. Log in on your phone

You need to be logged in to Tenth Cup on the phone you pair with. On the pairing screen in your dashboard, scan the QR code to open the same page on your phone, already logged in.

  3. Hold your phone on the NFC

Keep the top of the phone against the NFC until it buzzes. Because you're logged in and the NFC is new, the "Name this NFC" sheet opens instead of a customer card.

  4. Choose the location and a name

Pick the location and give the NFC a short name, such as Till or Bar. You'll see it under Locations & NFCs, where you can rename it later.

NFC not opening anything? On Android, check NFC is turned on. On an iPhone 7, 8 or X, open the NFC Tag Reader from Control Center first. iPhone XS and newer read NFCs automatically.
